Courtesy Visit by Representatives of SIGMA Clermont, a France’s engineering Grande École
On February 18, 2026, Dr. Nicolas Blanchard (Manager, SIGMA Technology Center) and Mr. Raphael Beilicke (Director, International Relations) from SIGMA Clermont visited Gunma University and paid a courtesy call on President Yasuki Ishizaki.
SIGMA Clermont and the Graduate School of Science and Technology of Gunma Univesity concluded an international exchange agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by President Ishizaki and Executive Director for Education and Evaluation Mutsumi Iijima, and the agreement was signed by Dean Tuneaki Ishima of the Graduate School of Science and Technology.
SIGMA Clermont is a French higher education institution (Grande École) with strengths in the fields such as mechanical engineering, computer science, civil engineering, and bioengineering. During the visit, they discussed student exchange programs and the potential for researcher exchanges toward future joint research.
Prior to the courtesy visit, the delegation visited the Center for Research on Adoption of NextGen Transportation Systems (CRANTS) and received an overview of autonomous driving vehicles and simulation technologies under the guidance of Dean Ishima.
