| The role of the Center is to assist the faculty to
transfer their scientific and technological potential to industry through
joint research, training and education, consulting on technical problems
and information sharing. Through cooperation and technical exchange with
industries, the university is able to contribute to the welfare of the community
at large, and at the same time stimulate its own research activities.

| The Center, through active collaboration both internally
and externally, seeks to maintain the highest possible level of focused operation
of analytical technology in order to support instruction and research in
the field of natural sciences.

| The Gene Research Center aims at promoting genetic
research and education at Gunma University through the use of gene-analyzing
technologies, research into clarification of genetic structures and their
functions, clinical research into genetic diagnoses and therapies, and education
and training that include genetic experiments.

| The facilities of the Center are open to all members of the university community.
The facilities consist of the distributed computer systems and the ATM and
FDDI network systems called GUNet.
The function of the Center is to maintain and administer the facilities as well as computer-related research.

| The purpose of the Laboratory is to research and developgadvanced micro-devices,hincluding
electronic materials, intelligent devices and microdevice systems, and also
to foster a spirit of professionalism, creativity and business acumen.

| The Center provides health and welfare services for students, faculty, and
the university staff. The professional staff, including a physician, public
health nurses, and part-time counselors, conduct periodic health checks,
physical and mental, and also implement health promotion programs as prevention.
